kids connect/parents connect
A parent’s cancer diagnosis has a profound impact on the entire family. Not only does the parent have new information to learn and treatment decisions to make, but the parent has concerns about how much to tell their children. Cancer Support Community offers programs specifically designed to help both children and their parents.
Kids Connect/Parents Connect
Meets once a month on Saturday mornings: 10 am – Noon.
This program, led by licensed professionals, is designed to help children ages 6 -13 cope with a parent’s cancer diagnosis and to help parents develop the skills necessary to talk to their children about their cancer. Children and parents meet separately and together. Children participate in creative activities designed to help them express their feelings and emotions.
Teens Connect
Monthly program for teens 14-17 who have a parent diagnosed with cancer. Call for more details.
Kids Connect/Parents Connect Bereavement Groups
